Climate Change and Education
Contributor · 1 min read

Cambodia’s latest Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) was submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in August last year, and it puts education at its heart. The plan commits to integrating climate change across education policies, curricula, and teacher training to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for mitigation and adaptation.

Cambodia also aims to strengthen climate awareness through public education and embed environmental sustainability and green skills in technical and vocational education. By aligning its education sector with national climate priorities, Cambodia is recognising that resilient education systems are essential to building climate resilience and supporting the country’s transition to a more sustainable and climate-ready future.
