NDC Snapshot: Guinea
Guinea is a West African country that is exposed to many of the impacts of climate change, from floods and landslides to storms and heatwaves.
Guinea is an important country in West Africa, with more than 1000 watercourses and four of the major West African rivers rising in the country. These resources are under severe threat from the impact of climate change, and population growth.
These ever-increasing climate impacts highlight the importance of centring education in the country’s latest Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), which was submitted in November 2025. This includes building 300 climate-resilient schools – through reinforcing roofs, improving drainage, ventilation and shading – by 2030, and 1,000 by 2035.
